Since Cocalico Print Shoppe's start in 1988, the printing industry has seen many changes. Personal computers and laster printers were just becoming affordable, allowing the full page design of camera ready copy. Film negatives were made from the original with the image then burned onto a plate which was mounted on the printing press. Computer files had to be sent by mail because there was no internet or e-mail. Everything was printed using the offset process which has been around for over 100 years. Today files are sent instantly via email or internet, then sent directly to a digital color printer or plate maker for offset printing. The old offset printing technology is still an economical way to print large quantity. Throughout the changes in technology Cocalico Print Shoppe has always aimed to provide quality, affordable services.
